Horse: Tiara Breed: Arabian/Pinto cross Age: 7 Sex: Mare When I first brought Tiara to Levaland she could be very difficult to handle. She had been a backyard pet for her entire life and received little to no training. Within the first 5 sessions, Jen was able to lead her quietly, round pen her effectively and had gained her trust. Tiara was also deathly afraid of trailering. It took Jen only one session with Tiara and she had her standing quietly in the trailer – Amazing!! Jen has a great respect for horses and it shows in her work with them! She always puts their needs first and that is key to her success! Lynn G. Bridgewater, MA |

Horse: Bodi
Breed: Arabian Age: 6 Sex: Gelding Bodi is a six year old Arabian gelding with a history of limited human contact. He was kept as a stallion the first few years until his previous owner realized she didn’t have the time to work with him. He was gelded and I bought him 6 months later. To say Bodi had trust issues was an understatement. The vet couldn’t do a thorough health check because he was too jumpy and hated being restrained. He had to be tranquilized to get on the trailer and I was warned not to take his later off cause I’d never catch him. The first few days at his new barn all he did was run…mostly away from me. Over the last two years I have worked on Bodi’s trust issues with me and others that have contact with him. Over time he has become very sweet and loving almost to the point of being rude. I have worked on trying to break him but could never get past his anxiety about accepting a saddle. I decided I needed an expert. I had heard about Jen through the horse community and gave her a call. Jen is skilled in Natural Horsemanship and that’s the way I wanted to go with Bodi. Over the past few months Jen has done a great job teaching Bodi how to respect her as the boss while teaching him how to face his fears correctly. The first few lessons I was really impressed at how Bodi responded to her and her expectations of him. With each lesson he is submitting much faster and has learned to control a lot of his anxiety. He will now accept things that were impossible months ago. Jen has also helped me as his owner on improving my everyday training with him. Jen seems to be gifted with natural instincts that horses respond to and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a Natural Horsemanship trainer. Stacey S. Foxboro, MA
Horse: Fargo Breed: TB(Off the track) Age: 5 Sex: Male When I bought Fargo, I was lied to and mislead. He was not trained at all and when asked to do something he was scared or uncomfortable with, he would rear high enough to go over with no concern for his safety or anyone else’s. I am totally new at this myself; I just did not know what to do as I was a bit afraid of him. I was told by many horse people to get rid of him but I just could not give up on him. I contacted Jen and she came to my home but I just did not have the proper facilities she needed for his training. Jen tried several times to get him onto the trailer but his rearing was so bad that we decided we needed to try something else. I tried a horse shipper and a vet with no luck. I finally asked the vet to tranquilize him and the shipper brought him to Jen’s but it still took an hour to get him onto the trailer fully tranquilized. He learned respect in the round pen with Jen which was amazing to watch. She explains everything she is doing and why. What the horse is thinking and should or should not be doing. His rearing has stopped and he has started to trust that we are not going to hurt him. His training was cut short because of an old injury, but in three short weeks, I was able to take him home on my own trailer without the use of tranquilizers and after being as bad as he was is a miracle. I have learned so much from Jen in the very short time that Fargo was there and I cannot wait until Spring when he can return to training. Jen is one of the most knowledgeable, dependable, and honest people that I have met in the horse community and I am very grateful that I found her. Jen showed me how to work with Fargo at home with basic bending and other exercises. I feel more confident now and best of all I am no longer afraid to be around Fargo and it is all due to Jen’s excellent training skills for both horse and human. I could not stay away, so now I’m taking lessons with her.

Horse: Jack Breed: Gypsy Cob Gelding Age: 2 Sex: Male The choice of trainers for my 2 yr old Gypsy Cob " Jack" was easy after working with Jen for my first horse. Jack came to me, a 17 mos old , with the understanding that most of his earlier life was spent in a pasture after only the bare basics of training. Jack left home a 26 mos old pasture buddy to my other horse and returned home a 27 1/2 mos old respectful and rideable horse. Jen allowed me to be involved in all aspects of Jack's training, explaining things and pointing me in the right direction to work with Jack at home. Jen asked me my goals and showed Jack and me how to work toward them. People who see Jack now chatter in amazement at how such a young horse stands quietly for mounting and stops immediately when asked to. Jack is well on the way to becoming my perfect riding companion and Jen has already become the only trainer I would ever trust a horse too! Cheryl S. Rehobeth, MA

Horse: Sherwin Williams and Valentino Breed: Quarter Horse and Lusitano Age: 10 and 9 Sex: Gelding Thank You…those two little words of gratitude do not always express the depth of appreciation you feel for a job well done. That is how I feel about the training and guidance I received from Jen Goddard at Levaland Farm.
Jen is a skill technician who repeatedly demonstrates her commitment to the well-being of all the horses in her care. She is adept at analyzing the behavior of both the horse and rider and has worked wonders with me and my two guys.
My first experience with Jen is with a horse that had become dangerous. He was at another barn being cared for by another trainer and it was not working for him. He was angry and dangerous; so much so that I was now fearful of him and he knew it.
My job had changed, my time was limited and I had a living thing, this horse, who I had failed. My emotions were high; I was beside myself for what I had allowed to happen and immediately started looking for a new trainer. If you have ever done this task -- it is enlightening to realize that there are so many out there just in it for the bucks. Yes they may love the horses, but the money more. I was down to my last name on my list and very discouraged when I called Levaland Farm. The angel who answered the phone calmly talked me down from the edge and back into the possibility of what could be for me and my horse.
That angel was Jen! And over the next year, she and I worked with Sherwin and turned him around. She also helped me, with no words, come to the realization that no matter how hard I wanted it; this was not the boy for me. When it was time, I was able to release this horse with no regrets as I had helped turn around a dangerous animal and learned something about myself as well
Thank you Jen for all you do for the horse that are in your care. I have been at many barns over the years but will always be grateful that Sherwin and I found Levaland Farm. I look forward to your assistance with my new guy and a future of happy trails.
